Basil is an investment banker specializing in M&A transactions. His firm Strategic Exits Corp. focuses on designing and executing optimum exits for technology companies (www.Exits.com).
Dr. Peters has run a hedge fund, venture capital fund and an angel fund.
While still in grad school, Basil co-founded Nexus Engineering. Nexus grew to seven companies with over 300 employees with operations in Hong Kong, Jakarta, London and five Canadian cities. Nexus was successfully sold to Scientific Atlanta (NYSE:SFA) of Atlanta, Georgia in 1993 and is now part of Cisco. Basil was Chairman and CEO from the founding through to the sale.
In the mid 1990’s, Dr. Peters worked in Silicon Valley as the CEO of ICTV Inc, an interactive television company funded by IBM, Cox Cable and the Lauder Venture Fund.

Basil has a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in Electrical and Computer Engineering and has received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Canada Awards Silver Medal in Entrepreneurship, BC Science and Engineering Gold Medal and Business Leader of the Year Award.
